HOW TO OVERCOME CUSTOMERS' FEAR OF FAKE REVIEWS
Bazaarvoice, a platform for user-generated content and social commerce solutions, recently released a study based on a survey of more than 8,000 global shoppers and more than 400 brands.

One of the key concerns found in the study was that of fake reviews. 

With influencer marketing on the rise, customers are becoming increasingly aware that reviews aren't always what they seem. 

Here are a few of their study highlights:
  • 75% of consumers are actively concerned that reviews are fake
  • 70% trust customer reviews from 3rd party companies (Trustpilot, Google Reviews, etc)
  • 63% use trusted online shopping platforms 
  • 58% will research your brand online 
  • 51% check for secure website indicators (e.g., SSL padlock symbol)
What can you do to ensure your customers trust you?
  • Go big on customer reviews: the more genuine reviews you can show your customers, the better. A testimonial wall is a very powerful form of proof. Videos are naturally more believable than plain text, but a mix of each works very well.
  • Utilize 3rd parties: Ask your customers to leave you reviews on Google or Trustpilot. These are typically trusted more than reviews on your own site.
  • Screenshot social media reviews: If you have reviews on social media channels, take screenshots of them and place them on your testimonial wall, as people will recognize the design and know is harder to fake.
  • Build a funnel hub: A high majority of your potential customers are going to search your name and your product name in Google to see what comes up. A well-designed funnel hub shows visitors that you are a genuine business.
  • Have a social media presence: Many people nowadays don't trust businesses unless they have a social media presence. This doesn't have to be a particular platform, just seeing that you're active goes a long way.
  • Get media exposure: Make an effort to be interviewed on podcasts, newspapers, or even TV. Being featured on well-received platforms will go a long way to proving you're genuine.
Anything you can do to improve how much customers trust you is going to have a big impact on your sales.

Many Funnel Hackers do all of their marketing on Facebook, others and mostly YouTube, and many have started dominating TikTok.

This data shows the percentage of US adults who use a particular platform.

Contrary to what many would have expected, Facebook (at least according to this data) still dominates and is actually more popular this year than last.

Despite YouTube Shorts becoming more popular, YouTube's popularity dropped slightly.

With TikTok growing 16% with US adults and LinkedIn growing 20%, it looks like they're solid bets if they fit your style of ads.

It will be interesting to see where Threads fits in (it was launched after the research had been completed).
