Newsletter #13: Big news from WhatsApp, the art of using swag, and much more…
By The ClickFunnels Team September 28, 2023
Funnel Hacking Live is in full swing and already there has been so much value shared!

If you haven't managed to make it this year, be sure to keep an eye on the ClickFunnels Facebook group because both the Ambassadors and FHTV are providing updates and insights multiple times throughout the day.

Until then, here are some nuggets we've found this week…
WHAT YOU'RE ABOUT TO DISCOVER...
  • Simple tweaks to increase conversions
  • Could WhatsApp's new feature be a game changer for you?
  • A funnel that converted 85% of cold traffic
  • How to use swag to create brand ambassadors
  • Expert shares tips on creating a successful digital course
WHATSAPP OPENS A NEW FEATURE TO DOMINATE
WhatsApp has recently added 'Channels' to over 150 countries.

Channels are basically Facebook / Instagram / Twitter newsfeeds but in WhatsApp. People can follow whatever channels they like and be notified when they add something new.

Given it is brand new, this could be a huge opportunity for those who start building a community there now.

After all, figures from 2021 show:
  • WhatsApp has more than 2 billion users worldwide
  • It is ranked as the most used mobile messenger app in the world
  • There are over 91 million active users in the US and 39 million in the UK.
The fact that it isn't wildly popular in the U.S. makes it an even greater opportunity because you can assume many U.S. based businesses will be slow to join.

Take a look at the official announcement here and decide if it's worth setting up a channel for your business or brand.
THE ART OF SWAG: USING PROMOTIONAL PRODUCTS TO CREATE BRAND AMBASSADORS
Promotional products (also known as 'swag') serve as a creative strategy to convert everyday customers into brand ambassadors. And, when done correctly, it works very well:
  • A study by the Advertising Specialty Institute found that 85% of people who receive promotional products remember the advertiser.
  • A study by the Promotional Products Association International (PPAI) revealed that 79% of people feel appreciated when receiving swag, creating a stronger emotional connection to the brand.
  • A BPMA (British Promotional Merchandise Association) study revealed that 87% of recipients kept a promotional product for longer than a year, creating numerous opportunities for brand interaction and exposure to friends, family, or colleagues.
Swag is more than promotional material, it's a token that encapsulates the essence of your brand. It is a physical representation of your brand's values and identity.

There are 4 keys to implementing swag:

1. Choose items that resonate with your audience and align with your brand
For example, a tech firm may opt for branded wireless charging pads, whereas a health and wellness brand might lean towards reusable water bottles.

The quality, relevance, and utility of these items are crucial as they act as constant, positive reminders of your brand, enhancing recall and influence.

2. Personalize your products
Beyond choosing the right product, personalization elevates your swag from a mere promotional item to a cherished gift.

Embedding items with messages and designs that speak directly to the recipient fortifies brand loyalty and amplifies word-of-mouth referrals.

3. Consider where and how you distribute them
Strategic distribution of your swag can significantly increase its impact.

Events and moments of achievement are very popular because your swag lands in the right hands at their most receptive time. Then, encouraging the sharing of these items on social media can create a buzz around your brand and foster a sense of community, extending your brand's reach exponentially.

4. Find the right supplier
You can certainly search online to find a suitable supplier but I would say by far the best option is to ask for recommendations.

For example, if you posted in the ClickFunnels Facebook group asking for recommendations on t-shirt suppliers in the U.S. who offer customizations for a reasonable price, you will receive dozens of recommendations and genuine feedback.

Take the time to look around your market and see what other businesses are offering. Could you create branded t-shirts, hats or hoodies? How about sending a trophy or award to customers who reach a certain milestone?

The options are endless. One thing's for sure, if you implement the right swag, your business will never be the same again.

SIMPLE TWEAKS TO INCREASE CONVERSIONS
Whilst scouring the internet looking for tips to share, I came across Harry Dry of marketingexamples.com.

His Twitter account reached 100,000 followers recently, so he wanted to share 4 tips folks found most useful from the last two years.

Here they are:

1. Sell outcomes, not features
2. Don't think about 'capturing emails', think 'creating something worth subscribing to'
3. Simple CTA trick: Add a few words to your button to handle the user's biggest objection to clicking
4. Make your marketing REALER. Same title. Same painting. Same subreddit. One gets 300 votes. The other gets 70,000.
FUNNEL OF THE WEEK
If your opt-in page started converting 85% of cold traffic, what kind of a difference would that make to your business?

The funnel below, built by funnel expert Mike Harris, did just that.

Consider the value the lead magnet has to the target audience. It instantly solves a problem. They don't have to read anything, wait any length of time, or spend any money.

A spreadsheet might have no value to you and your market. However, look back at newsletter 12 and the lead magnet examples. Is there a type of lead magnet that would?

The afternoon sessions are getting into full flow here at FHL so we're going to have to love you and leave you.

We'll see you back here Monday when we share some gold from FHL, share a proven productivity hack, and much more.

Have a great weekend,

TikTok is taking on Amazon, networking mastery, and more…
Newsletter #12: TikTok is taking on Amazon, networking mastery, and more…
By The ClickFunnels Team September 25, 2023
Funnel Hacking Live is finally upon us!

Our bags are all packed, we're ready to head to Florida, but before we do, we have a few golden nuggets to share.

Here they are…
WHAT YOU'RE ABOUT TO DISCOVER...
  • TikTok has big plans to take on Amazon
  • How to stay up to date on everything happening at FHL
  • 5 lead magnet ideas to attract more customers
  • Top advice from a 2CC winner
  • How to network like the best of them
AN AMAZON KILLER ON THE HORIZON?
Big news… TikTok rolled out TikTok Shop in the US last week.

In an effort to take a big slice of online sales from Amazon, TikTok is offering to hold and ship sellers' products using its own fulfillment centers and launching an affiliate program for creators who sell products through their videos.

They're reportedly hoping to move $20 billion worth of products this year worldwide, and the holidays will be a big part of that.

To do that, according to Bloomberg, TikTok plans to offer steep holiday discounts in a monthlong campaign that will begin in late October.

They're hosting training sessions next week with merchants selling on its marketplace and offering to subsidize discounts of as much as 50% to entice sellers' participation in its Black Friday program, which begins Oct. 27 and runs through Nov. 30.

A TikTok spokesperson confirmed the plans.
Check out the official announcement from TikTok here.
HOW TO NETWORK LIKE THE BEST OF THEM
A lot of people are on their way to Funnel Hacking Live because they know they will learn things that will transform their business.

However, to many people, that's just half of the value of FHL.

The other half is the networking opportunity.

Whether you're joining us at FHL this year or not, developing your networking skills can open you up to opportunities like nothing else.

However, to many of us, approaching someone we don't know to start a conversation is daunting to say the least.

So, we've scoured the internet to come up with a toolkit to help you reduce that fear and put you on the path to networking mastery.

It turns out that the better you are prepared, the more confident you will be. These are the 4 things you need to have prepared:

1. Decide why you want to network with people
There is no wrong answer. You might be interested in making friends, learning from your peers, or finding a business partner. Whatever your reasons are, know what you want and it will help guide your conversations.

2. Have 3 conversation starters lined up and ready
For many people, initiating a conversation is the most stress-inducing part of networking. However, if you have 3 conversation starters lined up that you're happy with, approaching people becomes significantly less stressful.

Here are a few ideas for openers:

Ask for information
A good way to start a conversation is to ask for information from the person you want to talk to (even if you already know the answer).

Example: You're waiting for FHL to start and you see someone with a coffee, "Excuse me, where's the best place to get a coffee here?"

Pay a compliment
Complimenting someone can brighten their day and boost their confidence.

Example: A lot of people will be wearing t-shirts with slogans and branded with their own businesses, "I really like your t-shirt. Is that your company?"

If you see someone who has spoken on stage, "Your talk earlier was fantastic. I took so many notes! How long have you been doing ?"

Ask about them
People naturally like talking about themselves and sharing their knowledge.

Example: At FHL, everyone has a badge with things about them on it, "Hey, you're in the Inner Circle? It's my goal to sign up this year. Would you recommend it?"

Give yourself a challenge and involve them in it
A great way to overcome the initial nerves of speaking to someone is to have a reason for talking to them. Involving people in a challenge also makes them feel like they're helping you in return.

Example: Set yourself the challenge to get the #1 marketing tip from 50 people at the event, "Hey, I'm doing a challenge where I have to get the #1 marketing tip from 50 people here at FHL. Would you mind sharing yours?"

3. Know what to do to build rapport
Here are some of the top examples from Dale Carnegie's 'How To Win Friends And Influence People'

Avoid criticism, condemnation, or complaining
Positivity encourages conversation more effectively than negativity.

Show genuine interest in others
Engage in conversations with enthusiasm and attention. Ask about people's lives, thoughts, and experiences, showing sincere curiosity.

Remember people's names
A person's name is crucial to them. Remembering and using it during interactions establishes a sense of familiarity and respect.

Encourage others to talk about themselves
People love discussing their lives and opinions. Encouraging them to share builds a sense of rapport and goodwill.

Make the other person feel important
Sincere compliments and acknowledgements make people feel valued and can have a profound impact on relationships.

4. Have a plan for follow up
You've had a great conversation with someone, what do you want to do next? Do you want to grab a drink at the end of the day and discuss notes, do you want to arrange a time to chat about working together, or do you simply want to tell them it was nice chatting?

Have a few plans in mind and it will significantly increase the chances of those things happening.

With these 4 steps, you will be well on your way to creating new and exciting relationships.

As a bonus… If you're an introvert, remember people want to be heard and understood. Introverts often possess deep listening skills and empathic understanding. These are your networking superpowers!
IDEAS TO SPICE UP YOUR LEAD GEN
Is your current lead magnet holding you back?

Finding customers can be hard, but lead magnets give people a reason to accept you into their world.

If your industry is saturated with ebooks and webinars, chances are a different type of lead magnet could open the floodgates.

Here are 5 ideas for inspiration:

1. Provide personalized recommendations via a quiz:
2. Offer valuable information via a calculator:
3. Offer interesting/fun information via a questionnaire:
4. Offer a selection of useful resources:
5. Create a giveaway/contest:

TIPS FROM A 2CC WINNER
Mountain Wong couldn't believe it when, after years of effort, he finally got his hands on a 2CC award.

Once he did however, he was keen to share 3 tips for others to get there too…

"I found the physical and mental challenge a big part of how I stay consistent at my e-coaching.

It is tough, but I enjoyed it.

When I start getting confused, I will think of a quote…

"There are 3 ways to ultimate success: The first way is to be kind. The second way is to be kind. The third way is to be kind."

I am not joking…it is actually meaningful! If you'll bare with me and take some value away from this:

1) Be kind to everyone and anything around you
People who are kind see clear benefits to their wellbeing and happiness. It also helps reduce stress and improve emotional control. We are all facing loads of tasks in our lives but if we take time to be kind to others, we can reap the emotional dividends. Kindness could be built into business as well. Be grateful to someone who helps you and take turns to help other people who are vulnerable or struggling.

2) Say thanks to those who supporting you
It is precious to have someone who sees your value and trusts you. They are angels! I would like to leave a message to my student. Without you guys, I would have deferred myself to success by 5 to 6 years. Thanks for appreciating me to be your coach and following my method to make yourself successful too!

3) Treat yourself well
Work hard, play hard. We rest for the future. Sadly, because of the busy city, treating oneself has become a luxury. "I can't seem to deserve a break!" Does it sound familiar to you? Having "me" time doesn't mean cheating. Don't forget to rest!

It's time for me to take a break now! Grab a coffee and enjoy my 2CC award hanging on the wall!

See you at the peak!
- Mountain
That's all we have time for today! Hopefully we'll see you in Florida. If not, have a great week and we'll catch up again Thursday when we'll be discussing evangelists, swag, and giving you some insights from the week so far.

Speak soon,
