very... very... very... important (if you have Gmail)

Hi Gordon,

If you have Gmail then you need to do the following asap.

.. or just keep reading.

I feel sort of weird saying this, but Gmail doesn't know that we're friends :-(

Not sure if you've heard, but Gmail created a new email feature and decided to automatically filter your messages.

(even if you haven't seen this feature yet, sooner or later all gmail users will automatically have it)

So for example - until now, everything was categorized how you wanted it.

But now, Gmail has decided to put on a new feature that filters your email how they see fit (below I'll help you take back the control of your inbox).

Here's What You'll See:

Just above your inbox, Gmail will put your emails into 5 categories:

- Primary
- Social
- Promotions
- Updates
- Forums

The problem is, Gmail won't know we're friends and will automatically put the messages I send you into "Promotions".

I thought Google is some kind of genius -
so how come they wouldn't know we're friends?

Sort of weird, I know - but there's the problem:

As long as our messages are in "Promotions" - you won't see them. Because "Promotions" skips your inbox.

How To Take Back YOUR Inbox:

But for all you action takers in the John Chow dot Com tribe - I have good news:

Gmail does make it easy to change this to take back control of your inbox.

When your inbox changes, here's what you can do to make sure we stay connected.

Here are the 2 steps:

Find one of my emails in "Promotions" and drag it into "Primary"

A pop-up will appear to ask if you want to do this for all future messages and click "Yes".

That's it - now you're all set - Gmail knows we're friends!

And now, you won't miss any of my messages to you :-)

Oh, and by the way - here's a final tip if you'd like to totally get rid of this new feature.

Go to "Settings" [the icon on the top right corner of your screen above your inbox] and select "settings."

Click on the "Inbox" tab and "Unselect" all categories but "Primary" and then click "Save Changes.")

And that is it - your work is done.

So thank you for staying connected with me.

I often get "thank you" emails from supporters and students all over the globe expressing their gratitude from an internet marketing tip, trick, resource or business book I recommended. Those emails are priceless to me and I would hate to lose you, so if you have a Gmail account and you don't want to miss anything I send you, please take 2 minutes and make these quick changes in your settings.

Talk to you soon!
